We had another beautiful early morning walk today with Judy and the dogs, this time along the River Beauly.
As we made our way back there was a beautiful rainbow, ending a lovely walk which we all enjoyed, especially Mollie and Jessie!
After (a second) breakfast we were dropped off to allow us to walk along the Beauly Firth. The weather was lovely and it was another very enjoyable stretch.
We soon met Jillian, the Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for North West Highlands and Islands! We had a lovely (albeit short) chat which gave us a huge boost before we continued on our way to North Kessock.
A couple of miles from North Kessock we made last minute plans to meet some friends from Yorkshire! They came to meet us and we all walked back together, catching up and having a good chat.
After lunch in North Kessock, we were dropped off in Inverness in order to walk along the Caledonian Canal. This isn’t exactly what we had planned, however with Kate still struggling with her hip we changed our plans to ensure the terrain would be as flat as possible, and we thought it would be fitting to return to the scene of our wrong turning on day 1!
This time we walked all the way along the canal as far as we could, crossing over at the locks and heading back in the opposite direction.
Reaching the Tomnahurich Bridge we met Kevin who’d been to Inverness station to collect Olivia’s boyfriend Ross. Ross has been on hand for brilliant technical support throughout the walk and has been the one responsible for posting the blogs (not an easy task when Olivia is incapable of sending them in the right order)! Ross and the dogs walked back along the canal and the river with us.
In August 2019 we're walking 500 miles round the North Coast of Scotland in memory of Kevin Kerr, raising money for MND Scotland, Marie Curie & SITraN
