After an amazing stay at Rosemount Bothy in Garve, our lovely hosts recommended a forest walk to start the day so we set off with Judy (who’d joined us last night) and the dogs.
Although today was supposed to be the best day of the week weather-wise we still got soaked! After a quick breakfast we headed off again, along the forestry tracks to Contin. Over the last few days we’ve definitely noticed a change over the last few days - autumn is well and truly on the way!
We met Roger, Judy, Kevin and the dogs in the forestry car park where we had our lunch before the dropped us off across the busy road where we had a lovely walk along Loch Achilty, even managing to spot a Pine Marten.
Making our way, we passed a hydroelectric power station (which Kate was very excited about) before meeting our support crew at Meig Dam for a snack!
We then followed the river in the direction of Marybank, where we were picked up just before we reached it having walked a total of 24 miles. We were pretty sore and exhausted but it felt good to achieve such a good mileage!
In August 2019 we're walking 500 miles round the North Coast of Scotland in memory of Kevin Kerr, raising money for MND Scotland, Marie Curie & SITraN
