After a lovely stay and breakfast at the Tigh An Eileen in Shieldaig we were ready for a good day!
We set off from Shieldaig which was looking beautiful in the still morning, heading towards Lochcarron.
It wasn’t long before it started to rain (again)! Fortunately Roger and Kevin soon turned up with hot chocolate, however unfortunately in an effort to get it to us whilst it was still hot, Roger was wearing half of it on his jeans!
Despite the rain it wasn’t a bad walk and the clouds actually made it quite atmospheric!
The clouds then lifted significantly and we had some great across the Lochs as we continued along.
We stopped and had a quick photo at the sign at the beginning of the Bealach Na Ba but didn’t fancy walking up it!
Further along the road we came to the Kishorn Seafood Bar where (even as vegetarians) we had a good lunch! The old telephone box in Kishorn has been turned into a selfie box so we took a quick selfie there before we headed on our way!
The hills and the waterfalls were stunning as we made our way along the twisty turny road, however by now Kate’s hip, which has been bothering her for the last few days, was causing her a lot of pain.
We took our time down the hill into Lochcarron and Kevin and Roger met us and took us to our accommodation for the night. We were still a bit short on miles so Olivia and Kevin powerwalked to Strome Castle.
The castle looked beautiful in the evening light and Kate had followed along in the car so we all explored for a little while. We walked a little of the way back to make it up to a round 4 miles.
We finished the day with a lovely meal at the Lochcarron Bistro to celebrate reaching 400 miles!
In August 2019 we're walking 500 miles round the North Coast of Scotland in memory of Kevin Kerr, raising money for MND Scotland, Marie Curie & SITraN
